~Coffee gone cold~

I remember the last time we held each others hand,
I remember the last time I saw you glance,
The last smile, the last fight...
The last time I held you tight...

I remember the last time I slept on your lap,
I remember your so called 5-hour 'power nap'!
The way your fingers ran through my hair,
You scratched me with a broken nail...you did I swear!

I remember the last time we danced in the rain,
The very next day how my whole body was in pain.
The warmth of your touch, of late that I missed,
How the time stood still every-time we kissed.

I remember the early winter mornings by your side,
Blanket wrapped up in your terrace, we sat up all night;
How the sun rose and how we kissed,
The hot coffee later and the cookies that I missed.

I remember the day the coffee went cold,
I waited for you no matter what my friends told.
Didn't sleep, didn't eat, just kept staring at the gate,
I waited for you all day, I waited for you till late.

Some say you left 'cause our love was too much to take,
But what we had was all good, or did you think it was all fake?
I once promised you, I will never cry if you ever leave,
Taking each day as it comes, I remember the promises I have to keep!
